What to do About Dog Allergies

How do you get away from allergens?

Ugh… I wish I knew.  Despite living in several different places, I always seem to be allergic to something that is blooming.  I guess you can run, but you can't hide.

Dogs suffer from environmental allergies too!

Stelly can't hide either.  Anything from pollens and dander from other animals or even humans can trigger an allergic reaction in your pet.  From feeling itchy and rolling around, watery eyes, lethargy, incessant licking or chewing to painful hot spots… these are all dog allergy symptoms to be aware of.

Stelly seems to be allergic to grass –

You know the single most fun place to run around and chase a tennis ball.  When we get home she develops a rash on her tummy, but what am I going to do stop letting her play on grass?  Of course not.

You can treat dog allergies from the inside and outside –

Of course, ALWAYS consult your vet and please don't consider this medical advice, but you can give your dog antihistamines or a daily allergy pill, the same kind people take.  You'll want to check with your vet and also verify dosage amount if you go this route.  This will help address allergy issues from the inside, however we wanted to address Stella's allergies from the outside too to make her more comfortable.

So how do you sooth allergy prone skin in dogs?

We searched high and low to find a product that would help sooth any type of allergic skin reaction Stella may have.  Thankfully, we found Zymox Itch Relief Shampoo and Leave-In Conditioner.  It's pretty cool, it uses a patent enzyme system (LP3 Enzyme System) that helps sooth allergy prone skin.  After coming out of the shower and being towel dried, we apply the Zymox Itch Relief, Leave-In Conditioner.  It smells great and helps extend the powerful enzyme action that keeps Stelly itch free!  Check out all of the amazing Zymox products by visiting:  www.zymox.com
